Creative Organizational Cultures By Design

Creativity is something highly valued in individuals yet is rarely supported in organizations. That requires designing a creative culture. It’s something we can do by design if we do it right.

Engaging in creative work requires a unique mindset and approach that is often challenging to replicate and expand without assistance. Unleashing one’s creativity can be particularly difficult for adults, especially when they are surrounded by others who doubt their own creative capabilities.

In his renowned TED Talk, the late Sir Ken Robinson shed light on why our perception of creative abilities diminishes as we grow older, attributing it to an education system that stifles this innate capacity. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to teaching innovation, design thinking, and creativity, and I have conducted an experiment similar to the one he describes in his talk. I posed the question about drawing abilities to young children, students in various educational stages, and seasoned professionals, and the results consistently validated his findings.
